Tanzania Anglican Youth Organization (TAYO) is an affiliation of the Anglican Church of Tanzania. It was formed in the early 1980s by the young of the Church. The Youth Department (TAYO) nurtures young people as vibrant disciples of Christ and future leaders of the Church. Through mentorship, discipleship, and active participation in parish life, the youth are encouraged to serve with passion and vision. Key areas and responsibilities include:
VISION OF TAYO
That all youth of the church are well equipped to develop in their Christian faith. To participate fully in church life and to serve the local community with Christ’s love.
MISSION OF TAYO
TAYO exists to empower young people to reach their full potential spiritually, mentally and physically so that they can play a complete role in Church life and in the society.
GOALS OF TAYO
- To strengthen peace, love and dignity among the youth
- To improve the reproductive health and life skills of young people
- To provide inclusive equal opportunities for all young people
- To improve economic well-being of young people
- To cooperate with the youth of other countries
- To ensure that the young Christians develop in faith and Bible knowledge
- To safeguard and preserve Christian ethics
- To enhance evangelism work among the young persons
- To coordinate and supervise all youth activities in the church
